Prison Engineering
TATGUN is an art project by Jiri Marshal, a guy who’s been messing with audiovisual stuff for years and clearly ran out of better ideas.
He studied real prison-made tattoo machines like actual, terrifying devices built from Walkman motors, toothbrushes, pen springs, cassette players, and occasionally hope. Then we did something they couldn’t:
We made it safe. Sterile. Fully functional. Yes, this thing works. Yes, it comes with a sterile needle. Yes, it can absolutely give you a tattoo.
No, we’re not coming to clean up the mess if you try to ink your own face on day one. But even if you never use it (coward), it’s still a damn beautiful piece of post-apocalyptic design.
Put it on a shelf, and watch guests slowly realize what it is. It’s a conversation starter. Or ender. Depending on who you invite over.
This is folk engineering from behind bars, reimagined for your dumb little apartment. A tribute to the unbreakable spirit of DIY, and a reminder that sometimes the worst ideas are the ones you remember forever.
So congrats. You’re not just buying a weird object, you’re buying a fully operational monument to human insanity and invention.
Enjoy. Or don’t. You already made a mistake by clicking the link. Might as well see it through.
